In the South Bend area and looking for Founders Curmudgeon's Better Half, but the lists at the local liquor stores are full, or is already sold out?I just received word that this should be on the shelf at Martin's Supermarket on SR 23 next to Notre Dame campus sometime today. From what I understand, they only have 6 bottles of the case left, as a "vendor" purchased the other half already. I wasn't given a definitive time for display, however this may be a good option if you missed out...
Ok, my buddy went to buy a bottle and found that they had already sold all but 1 bottle. I presume 6 were to whatever vendor, and the rest to employees? In any case, it is all sold out.
ReplyDeleteAnd this is why I'm tired of putting forth any effort to try and get special release stuff. I will either drive to K-zoo or G-Rap if it's really worth it to me, or I will stay here and continue to seek out really good stuff that I can actually find and purchase, at a lower price even! Or I will go to Bare Hands, where they make kick ass beer that rivals many of these sought after brews. If stores are going to limit customer purchases, they need to limit vendor and employee purchases, too.
ReplyDeleteI was fortunate enough to pick one up at the Grape Road Citywide. I didn't put my name on a list or anything, but my beer guy there held one back for me. He said that he crossed some people off of the hold list because he knew that they were just guys who were chasing the distro trucks from stop to stop.
